How does Instant Mobilizer make a mobile site more useful to mobile users?
Instant Mobilizer automatically adds features that help your visitors use your site from their phones. It reformats the screen size, resizes and optimizes images, banners and logos. Do I need to have a regular web site to use with Instant Mobilizer?
Yes. Instant Mobilizer creates your .mobi web site from an existing web site, called the source site. Your full web site does not need to exist when you sign up for Instant Mobilizer; however, no content will be available at the .mobi web site until your full web site is live.
What is a source site?
The source site is your main web site, which Instant Mobilizer converts for your .mobi site.
Do I need a .mobi domain name to use with Instant Mobilizer?
Yes. Instant Mobilizer will only deliver mobile-friendly content to a .mobi domain name.

What happens to my mobile web site if I make changes to my main web site?
Because Instant Mobilizer works on the fly, any changes you make to your desktop web site dynamically propagate to your mobile site. You don't have to worry about maintenance of an additional site.
Why does Instant Mobilizer access and convert the source site on-the-fly every time?
Instant Mobilizer's on-the-fly conversion makes sure your mobile site stays in sync with your main site, and it allows your statistics service to capture statistics for the mobile site.
What happens to Instant Mobilizer when I delete, renew, or transfer a domain name?
Deletion: When you delete a domain, Instant Mobilizer cancels automatically.
Renewals: When you renew a domain, service continues uninterrupted.
Transfers: To use our Instant Mobilizer service, your domain name must be registered with us. If you transfer to another registrar that offers Instant Mobilizer, you can subscribe to their service after the transfer completes.

Can all web sites be converted with Instant Mobilizer?
Yes. However, some file formats such as JavaScript and Flash will not be converted.
My web site includes ads. What happens to them when Instant Mobilizer converts my site to mobile-friendly format?
On the mobile site, Google AdSense ads are replaced with Google Mobile Ads (you must enable Google Mobile Ads in your Google account). Other ads will typically be treated as images, will be rescaled, and will link to their parent site, but they may not always be readable.
What components of web sites just won't work with Instant Mobilizer?
The following web site features will not work well or at all with Instant Mobilizer due to limitations with most mobile web browsers:
- Image maps
- Flash objects
- Frames
- Any HTTPS URL including Ecommerce (SSL is not supported)
- JavaScript pop-ups and mouseovers
- Tables used for layout purposes
- Email
- Site traffic meters
- Instant Mobilizer can only mobilize a full domain name. It cannot parse out a single host record or subdomain, such as for blogspot.com blogs.

What about the background images on my main web site?
Background images generally won't display well on mobile phones. We recommend that you not use background photos on your main web site.
I just added Instant Mobilizer to my .mobi domain name and set up the source site. Why is it not working?
The .mobi zone file may take a few hours to update before it begins mobilize your web site. If is not mobilizing after 24 hours, please contact our technical support.
Why is my logo missing on my mobilized site?
Instant Mobilizer looks at file names to identify your logo. If you want your logo to display in your mobilized site, make sure it contains the string "logo" in the file name, for example, logo.gif or site-logo.jpg.

Why do I get an error when I click on the phone number in the Instant Mobilizer preview?
The click-to-call functionality will only work from a mobile phone, not a computer.
Why is my phone number missing in the Instant Mobilizer preview?
Instant Mobilizer relies on specific syntax to recognize your phone number. Use the following formats for phone numbers:
- Full international format: +1 (212) 123 4567
- US formats: (212) 123 4567 or 212-123-4567
Why is my address missing in the Instant Mobilizer preview?
Instant Mobilizer relies on specific syntax to recognize your address on your normal web site. Use the following formats for addresses:
1234 Main St. Suite #2
City
ZIP State
OR
1234 Main St. Suite #2, City, ZIP State
Do not include extra information. European and other address formats are not supported.
Why do I get a blank screen in the Instant Mobilizer preview?
A blank screen can result if your site is entirely based on Flash. Flash content cannot be displayed by most mobile devices.
